My refrigerator has a purifier...
The term purification is used loosely in the water industry. The only true ways of purifying water is through Reverse Osmosis, distillation and UV treatment. The filters in most refrigerators are a small amount of granular activated carbon. Depending on your water type, this filter may not last very long and they are costly to replace. If you install a professional drinking water system in you home you can eliminate the fridge filter altogether.

Do you have a private well?
Dakota County's 2005 study found that 36 of the 68 wells sampled (53%) had detectable levels of nitrate. 12 of the 68 (18%) exceed the drinking water standard.
Every year, approximately 18% to 21% of the hundreds of wells tested through this service have exceeded the drinking water standard for nitrate.
As many as 25% of the
private wells in Minnesota have detectable levels of total
coliform bacteria.

"The compounds are of concern because they do not break down in the environment and they accumulate in human blood. These chemicals don't behave like anything else on the planet." Mary Dominiak, perfluorochemical coordinator for the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

Drinking Water Systems

Most bottled water is just filtered tap water.
Unless the bottle says "purified by reverse osmosis or distillation" it may not be purified at all.
Be sure about your household water
Bottle your own "purified" water for pennies a day!
Plastic water bottles are not being recycled. Instead, they are swallowing landfill space, increasing air pollution and destroying the ozone layer.

Pure clean drinking water...the way Nature intended
How Does the Microline TFC-4 Reverse Osmosis work?
The pressure from a household tap forces water through a semipermeable membrane. This membrane separates your water at the molecular level. The membrane works like a filter to isolate the contaminants, reducing them so the water becomes purer.
Stage 1: Prefilter
Sediment Carbon Block filter, removes chlorine and filters out larger particles protecting the membrane.
Stage 2: TFC Membrane
The operational center of the system. The membrane removes particles too small to be trapped by the prefilter. The membrane's microscopic pores allows Hydrogen and Oxygen molecules through, (and water is H2O). Contaminants are flushed to the drain.
Stage 3: Post Carbon Filter
Removes any unwanted tastes and odors.
Stage 4: The Final Polish:
After the membrane the RO water is routed to the holding tank. When you turn on your faucet and draw water from the holding tank, it then goes through its final stage of filtration, an additional carbon filter to remove any remaining tastes and odors before it reaches your glass.
All materials are FDA and/or NSF compliant
The TFC systems are tested and Certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 58 and has been tested under Industry Standard S-30091 for Total Dissolved Solids reduction and structural integrity. Water Quality Association

Thin Film Composite Membrane is more advanced than Cellulose Triacetate Membrane. CTA systems are designed for city chlorinated water only. TFC systems are designed for both city and well water applications.
How does the BSR-3 work?
Stage1: Sediment Filtration
In the first filtration stage a 5 micron melt blown polypropylene sediment prefilter cartridge removes sand, silt, dirt and rust particles.
Stage 2: Activated Carbon Adsorption
The second filtration stage is the granular activated carbon filter cartridge. It contains a premium grade carbon that has a vast network of pores. The tremendous surface area of these pores gives the carbon very good adsorptive sites for chlorine as well as other substances which contribute to tastes and odors.
Stage 3: Bacteria Reduction
In the last filtration stage the ceramic element removes 99.9% of suspended solids and water-borne bacteria down to 1 micron*. The ceramic element incorporates a silver compound to make it a self-sterilizing (bacteriostatic). This filtration stage is also effective for the reduction of cysts such as Giardia Lamblia and Cryptosporidium.
A three stage drinking water system designed to reduce sediment, tastes and odors, and pathogenic bacteria. The BSR-3 ceramic element removes 99.9% of suspended solids and water-borne bacteria down to 1 micron.
